Charles D. Young ('90, MBA '03)
Charles Young, BA ’90, MBA ’03 is the Chief Operating Officer of Colony Starwood Homes (CSH), which is a rapidly growing public REIT (NYSE: SFR) that acquires, renovates, leases and manages single-family rental homes located in 14 US markets. From 2003 to 2012, Mr. Young was an Executive Vice President at Mesa Development, a national real estate developer. Prior to Mesa, Mr. Young worked for Goldman Sachs and Company in their Real Estate Principle Investment Area (Whitehall) and Goldman’s Investment Banking Division, in Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Young also created and managed two entrepreneurial ventures; The Kaleidoscope Group, L.L.C., a strategic diversity and management consulting firm and K.G. Holdings, LLC, a real estate holding and management firm. After undergrad at Stanford, Mr. Young spent several years as a professional football player in the National Football League (NFL) and the World Football League (WFL). He currently serves as an Independent Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, on Stanford’s GSB Management Board and on Stanford’s Humanities and Sciences Council. He currently lives in Chicago with his wife and three children.
